Territorial/Nervous Pooping?

One of my dogs (5yr old mini fox terrier) has given me a lot of grief the past few years with her house training. She is toilet trained and knows to go potty outside. She is outside more than she is inside, and I always praise for toileting outside if I see her do it, even now.

Since we got my other dog nearly three years ago, she has started pooping inside again. Not in random spots, the same spot every time, which is where they normally toilet if I'm a bad human and don't let them out when they tell me they need to go. She can hold overnight just fine, and when I go away on trips with my other dog she goes back to being perfectly toilet trained, no accidents whatsoever. Sometimes we have good stints where for a couple days there are no accidents, but its rare.

She gets along great with my other girl and always has, even from the beginning she was in love with Gem. Sometimes she takes her frustration out on Gem when she gets nervous and will run at her (just a bit of snarling) but Gem just stands still and ignores it. They sleep together by choice and Maisie is definitely the boss when it comes to that pair.

I was thinking it could be a nervous thing, given she does have some anxiety we are working through. Or perhaps territorial given she was here first and maybe feels the need to make that known. I never scold her of course, but I have tried different sprays such as white vinegar, clove oil, citronella etc on that area to discourage, which all worked when toilet training as puppies but haven't worked for me since. The longest she is expected to hold for is from 10:00pm to 6:00am, which she has never minded before we got my other dog. My other dog does not toilet inside and we hose out the area with dishwashing soap whenever it is soiled.

I was thinking perhaps revert back to crate training? How do I address this?

Can you block access to that place? And, I know we normally suggest this for peeing but there might be a trace of scent that draws her back. So I'd suggest an enzymatic cleaner and leave it down for 10 minutes to let the enzymes do their work before wiping up.

A crate might help but if she isn't already crate trained, it's more work than blocking access which might be enough. If she is crate trained though, give it a shot.

Ok, Similar issue..Male neutered, 4 yrs old pittie mix, non aggressive, feels rejected by female Plott spayed 8 yrs old, we've had Levi( male) 4 yrs..trained with crate, toileting..loves other dogs n now our cats..She's attacked him so many times .only together when I'm right there. He never fought back and got bit a few times.
Never in kitchen at same time as she's food aggressive with dogs..not humans or cats.
He fought back one day, but more noise than fight..she didn't have any war wounds..

Now, he started peeing n pooping in living room, even right after doing it all outside..I can't walk him like always, injured my leg and he's 97+lbs..so I leash him, and from doorway he toilets outside..as I hold leash in doorway.
When he's loose in fenced backyard, he jumps over 5ft fence on one end facing front. He doesn't go anywhere, just to front door..but he jumped in a lady's car who assumed he was a stray..and wound up in shelter..
Anyway, I used everything too to stop him smelling his waste..cover spot with his dog dish n fed him there..I have wood floors so a disaster as it prob seeped thru..New rugs put there, rearranged living room.
My next try, a new puppy..he could focus on puppy being his bestie, and forget the Diva..take his attention off her.
Today, letting them both out back together..maybe less domination out there.
I thought to re-home Diva Jolene, but she's been returned 3x when I fostered her, that's why I have her. Rehoming him? Maybe but I've put 4 yrs of money time and effort in, he's annoyingly clingy, refuses crates since I was hospitalized, ate thru 3..he loved his "dog cave" but now no way.. he's with me 24/7..I'm home 24)7 FT grad student, mom to disabled teen, whom he watches over like a Nanny.. He's sweet, afraid of ALOT but no aggression..always in the way and remembers every command 85% obeys..

I need him to calm down, stop toileting in my living room( marking I believe) and never was unable to train a dog/horse/cat in my whole life.
My grown kids( live far away) want me to re-home both dogs..and buy a stuffed one, keep the cats. Help me!!

Thanks @JoanneF I tried blocking it off with a puppy fence last night and it has worked so far, I will try the enzymatic cleaner today and see how we go as the week progresses. She is crate trained but prefers to be free roaming so I will keep that as a last resort.

@agility collie mom I'm not particularly fond of using medication in such a young dog unless there are no other options available. We are making great progress with her anxiety currently and as such I want to avoid medicating for now :)

I'm more than willing to medicate my overly busy body dog that is Anxious+, and he does obey, but gets very anxious at times, and upset easily when female dog step sister acts like an evil witch to him,CSI I believe he's marking where she rests on the living room floor. He's like a Buffalo, meds barely take effect..he's 97+ lbs, I've used Melatonin, Benydryl( he's highly allergic so he's on it ALOT, recently broke out in weirdest welts, licked till bled, after an organic shampoo for skin dermatitis he gets yearly..also running around like crazy hiding under tables .Finally 3 weeks later, welts gone and coat looks better, but he's getting another Chlorhexidine bath, (no shampoo) new flea tick meds, new flea collar, and back to the beginning..He still needs calm down meds that will ACTUALLY WORK..we truly tried over $200 in meds, natural and home remedies..
He was looking great B4'that dam $45 shampoo.
