Thanks! Yours is too. I love how she also has the M on her forehead! And I agree with Timber. Rescued that have a foster system will know very specific details that other places may not. For instance, my roommate just adopted a cat who was fostered with a large GSD, which is perfect since I'm going to have my Mal in our apartment as well. She was able to find a cat that wouldn't have a heart attack the first time my dog play barks at it and can give some sass right back to him.

I've only ever had 4 cats. My first one, Ashley, I got her when she was about a year old, and I was in my early 20s. She lived to be 21 years old.

This is Ashley when she was about 4 years old.

After having a grey and white tuxedo shadow for 21 years, I decided my next cat was going to be a grey and white tuxedo too. I was just too use to seeing those flashes of color for 21 years as Ashley ran past me or I saw her sleeping on the bed.

I adopted a 6 1/2 year old cat who's name was Cleo at the shelter..she had been badly abused by her former owners...a brutal dad who kicked her, and I believe the children tormented her to no end. She was a nervous wreck for the first 3 years I had her. She's now trusts me not to hurt her and will come and lay on my chest. I renamed her Kayla after getting her, hoping it help her forget her difficult past.

KAYLA at around age 7

I never got another cat with Ashley because she was very aggressive towards other cats, but Kayla would stop and gently paw at her reflection, so I thought she might use a friend...a 'normal' cat who could teach her not to be afraid of everything and I adopted a cat that had 7 toes on each of her feet. She had what I would call the 'common' name of 'Socks' I renamed her Shayle...using the letter's in Ashley's name but also because she like to go roll and climb around the shell piles in the Department of Transportation lot next to my house. Shell was about 2 years old when I got her, but sadly one day when she was about 6 or 7 years old, she went out the doggy door and never returned.

SHAYLE

About 2 years after I lost Shayle I adopted a cat who's name at the shelter was 'Mouse' I hated that name. To me a mouse is something that leaves turds on my counter and chews through anything it can to get at food. I've tossed out pasta, flour, sugar and other things due to mice over the years. Also, I don't think mouse is a nice name to give to a cat. So I renamed her and she's now Song. Song is named after one of my favorite Asian actresses, Song Ji Hyo. Also, grey cats are sometimes called 'blues' and I had a terrible few years before getting her and the song 'Song Sung Blue' by Neil Diamond would run through my mind sometimes, plus she does have a pretty meow and makes 'singing noises'.

SONG

So, as of now, I have 2 cats, Kayla and Song.
