I know there is no real way to know, he's a mixed breed and all. I just thought it may be fun to guess.

His mom is a pure bred BC, his dad is a GSD/ACD ( Blue heeler) cross .
At 10 weeks he was 14.5 lbs now at 12 weeks he is 22lbs.
I have heard that you double their weight at 16 weeks. I am unsure how accurate that is.

Thoughts?? We were sort kinda hoping for a medium sized dog like our pure heeler was short and stalky 40 lbs. It doesn't really matter though.

I'd guess 40 too. Very similar to my ESS's weight at that age and she's coming in for a landing at 40lbs now that she's 6 months.

Wow! Cady was 30.2 yet a nine months. Haven't had her back lately. Guesses at her weight by different methods were from 36-42 lbs., but she is not there yet. I would prefer 35 lbs! MY first FB Springer was 38-40 & my second was 32-34. Can't imagine 40 at 6 months! Such a cute girl!

I would also agree, but I would bump it up to around 45 lbs.

If the doubling in weight is true, then he might be around 44 lbs, which is closer to my guess that was based on the statistics of the breed. If not doubling, then you might be looking at your pup being around 37-40 lbs whenever he hits 16 weeks.

Also, I demand pictures! xD

The doubling of the weight us supposed to be at 16 weeks, he's only 12weeks and 22 lbs, that would put him at 44 if you doubled it now. I will have to see what he is at his 16 weeks appt I guess.
Should be interesting to see how he grows.

We were told the same thing too: double the weight at 16 weeks. Scarlett is about 10 lbs now at 16 weeks (She gets spayed this week!!) so we're being told about 20lbs (She was the runt of the litter).

But in the past, our American Bulldog, Feeby got to 95lbs and at 16 weeks she was NOT 45lbs, so.... I think it's different for large and bully breeds that get stocky and take 2-3 years to fully mature.

If he's already 22lbs at 12 weeks, he's likely to be close to 30lbs by the 16 week mark if he averages +2lbs/week over that four-week span. Double that and you're looking at a 60lb dog.

That's pretty close to my pup. He was 14lbs at 9 weeks, 22lbs at 13 weeks, and 29lbs at 16 weeks. He's also a mix-breed (lab-boxer-pit), and I figure he'll mature in the 55-60lb range. I'm glad. I picked up a tiny stray mix-breed pup off the side of the road about 10 years ago. He grew to 105lbs! And he's not a bit overweight! Just huge! You never know with the mixes!
