My pups name is Bruce he is 8 months now and about 50 lbs. He was very sick when i adopted him at 10 weeks and that may have stunted his growth. His whole litter was taken away from a street breeder and the shelter didn't know exactly what he was. The vet at the shelter said she thought he was a husky shepherd mix. As he grew and had regular vet visits my vet told me she thinks he has some wolf in him. I thought that to be strange because of his size. When I brought him to a specialist to be neutered she suggested me to read up on coyote mixes as that is what she thinks. I don't know much about either other than what i have read online but this doesn't seem right. He is very stubborn, took quite a while to potty train:eyeroll: (as compared to our other dog) he is very affectionate and really became dominant over our 80 lb dog at about 3 months. He doesn't howl but he makes a lot of strange sounds other than barking..kind of like a person saying huh? He is very rowdy and playful, attempts to dig his way out of the yard, and at first doesnt like new people in the house until he gets to know them. Knowing his breed will help me so i can alter how i will train him. Any imput is helpful. Thanks!:ponder:

I really don't see any wilf or coyote in him. I do see a shepherd mix though!

I wouldn't assume he has any wild in him. People are quick to make that assumption lately for some reason. I'm very surprised your vet suggested it, too.

I think husky shepherd is a good/likely guess.

For some reason though, in some pics I see a shiba inu/husky mix. Shibas are smaller than huskies so I am not sure if he would be that big if it was a shiba mix.

Agreeing with those who see Husky/GSD. If there's any other breed there, I wouldn't be surprised to see some Akita or Shiba Inu. Aside from coloring, he reminds me of my Eva who our vet thinks is primarily Akita/GSD.

He sure is a cutie!

Awe he is a cutie pie. I'm going to say part beau and part iful... So you have a beautiful pup. ^_^

In any case, I agree with what was already said, GSD stand out a lot to me in his picture as well as husky. And I wouldn't tell people you have a part wild. I read that in some states they are starting to put a ban not only on pitbulls, but any dog who looks 'wolf-ish' weather they have wolf in them or not.

I also say Shep/Husky, the face really reminds me of our Rascal as a pup.

A bit off topic but.... We had a awesome pup "Bart" a few years ago (RIP:() and he was a mix, but the only thing anyone even the vets would agree apon was Shepherd. Be were told Pit Bull, Rottweiler, etc and we all ways said no. Then one day while walking in a dog park we came across a Doberman pup about the same age and then it was clear what his mix was.

BTW, great looking dog, glad you adopted:thumbsup:

He definitely looks like a shep/husky to me. He looks so much like my Bear who was husky/australian shepxcollie mix!

This is Bear and his brother Nanook!
