Feeding my 1 yr old Pug Max

Since I began feeding him only once a day he's lost 1.5 pounds. He was 20.5 maybe 2 months ago. Is there a time when Pugs should be fed only once a day? Am I early? He's 1 year and 2 months old.

Odd thing is...people in my condo and area that know Max actually said he's bigger now. :) Maybe they hadn't seen him in a while.

I might start feeding him a full scoop portion for dinner instead of 6/8 (almost full scoop...the scoop was provided by the dog food company TLC).

Would probably like to see him back up near 21 pounds but definitely under 22 (22 is according to "experts" the cutoff...above which Pugs are overweight).

Advice? Pug owners...

Just Googled it "How many times a day should I feed my Pug?"...this is what I found...
Pug Feeding Chart - How Much Should a Pug Eat?
Age Times Per Day Amount Each Time
Puppy (3 to 6 months) 3 1/3 cup
Adolescent (6 months to 1 year) 2 3/4 cup
Active Adult (1 to 8 years) 2 1/2 cup
Senior (8 years+) 2 1/3 cup

Not sure where but I thought I read at a certain age Pugs should only be feed once a day. Guess I was wrong. :)

Still open to hearing from other owners of 1 yr olds. Pugs or otherwise...Thanks.

How much you should feed will depend on the specific food. What brand do you use? Is there a quantity/pound guide on the bag? As long as you're feeding the same total quantity per day, his weight should be staying the same, I'd think. So if you used to feed 1 cup twice a day (just to pick a nice easy number), you'd feed him 2 cups once a day. That way he's still getting the same number of calories and the same nutrition.

Disclaimer: I've never had a Pug, only big dogs. :)
