But...but..how can I DO that??? My phone is a blackberry..it automatically picks up my emails & sends straight to my phone...granted, its a neat option, but,..my phone is going bananas w/ *alerts*....It's a mess....a FIXABLE MESS, BUT, still, my poor phone is just NOT used to this kind of data influx. Yes, blame ME the entire way...I am not the sharpest tack in this dept...can I just change my email to the site to an account that is NOT attached to my phone? would that help me at this point? *clueless*

 

In your User Cp there should be an unsubscribe option. I think its in the options menu

Default Thread Subscription ModeWhen you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.

 

Maybe it takes a bit of time..I reset those options hours earlier...then charged my phone a bit..it(phone) is now showing the last update being from 9:41pm...who knows, maybe I have indavertandtely selected the correct non-alert selection notifiyer button...will find out more tomorrow I suspect!!

yup totally change the options on your account, or change your email to one that doesn't update your phone

 

it will still alert you to threads that you posted in before you changed your options. As the older threads "die" it wont bug you anymore

Sorry for the inconvenience. There is no need to change your email address, though. By default, members automatically receive email notifications when threads they've participated in receive replies. This can be disabled by changing your "Default thread subscription mode" from your User CP to "Do not subscribe".

However, you will still receive email notifications for the threads you'd previously subscribed to before changing that setting unless/until you change or remove your existing subscriptions. If you go to your User CP and click "View all Subscribed Threads" you have the option to change and remove your existing subscriptions. Once you've removed the subscriptions that were set to notify you via email before you changed your "Default thread subscription mode" to "Do not subscribe", you should no longer receive any email notifications when these threads receive new posts.
