Hello everyone! When using my computer the other day, I saw an ad for Badlands Ranch Superfood Complete. I have been looking to switch dog foods, and this product mentioned that it uses some of the healthiest foods on Earth like gut healthy vegetables and omega packed Salmon. I have a 5 year old Golden Doodle, and I just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with this product, and if so what you think of it.

Haven't heard of that one either, but there are several out there that sell a decent product for our pups. My advice is to stay with all fresh foods. We feed ours a food that is all fresh contains only USDA certified for human consumption foods, is lightly cooked and comes frozen. It contains fruits, vegetables and meat (your choice of beef, venison, chicken, turkey or fish) plus some organ meat to meet their nutritional requirements.

I've been using it about four months now. My dogs love it and they BEG me to feed them their dinner early everyday! I even tried a piece when I first bought it because it smells good, not like some of the nasty dry dog foods. Yes, I am that CRAZY about my dogs. It's actually good, and I can tell by their reaction to it.

I have a subscription, but I can adjust it's timing, so when we have a visit from my granddoggy while my son's on a 2 week vacation, she get's spoiled and I just adjust the timing of delivery - it gets here in 2 days! My 9 year old boy is looking leaner and has enough energy to keep up with his 1 year old little sister. I highly recommend Badlands Ranch!

I started using Badlands Ranch Superfood Complete for my 5-year-old Golden Doodle, and the results have been fantastic. Her coat is shinier, she has more energy, and her digestion seems much better. I do believe that the high-quality ingredients, like the gut-friendly veggies and omega-packed salmon, really make a difference!

Badlands Ranch are thieves. BUYER BEWARE!!! I tried to skip a subscription since I still had 9 un-opened bags of food. One of my dogs passed due to cancer, so I was not going thru the food as quickly. I tried to skip this order, and the site had a 'error' and did not allow me to skip. I tried to cancel and the site had an 'error' and would not allow me to cancel. I emailed them with my subscription number and asked them to cancel. Not only did they not reply or cancel, they went ahead and shipped anyhow. I am so pissed with this company. Kathy Heigl is a thief and should not be trusted. I cannot express enough how dishonest this company is. Do not trust them, they will rip you off.

It seems to me that one is taking a big risk when signing up for any kind of "subscription" dog food, because I hear of so many people not being able to cancel a shipment, not being able to cancel the subscription, and so on. It appears that they usually make it as difficult as possible to change your mind or to bow out. That's unethical business practice. I won't ever sign up for any of them, even the ones that have good reviews on their food, because I don't need that hassle and aggravation in my life and son't support companies that do that. I think every one of them has had a complaint against them.

If you are seeking a raw or special diet for your pup that is affordable ask your vet to refer you to a canine nutritionist. For about $100 they will design a diet you can make at home for your pup that meets all their needs. Mine has grain allergies...he gets chicken and sweet potatoes mostly but I can switch it up as I have the protein/veggie/etc parameters that work for him. He just turned 13 and has been on his own diet for 12-1/2 yrs and has ZERO health issues...walks 3-5 miles a day and barely has any gray. My last pup that was on great commercial food died at 10 from cancer and the one before that on a different great commercial food died of cancer at 9 and suffered from Cushing'sall the same breed!!!

I started feeding my 6 yr old Havanese Badlands Superfood. She went nuts over it!! I am using it as a topper over her Waruva shredded chicken wet food to stretch it out since it's a little expensive. She also loves the liver treats. She was in such a good mood after eating and so playful. The dog food advisory board gave this food very high scores.

I looked it up and it looks like it has 430 kcal per cup. Comparing this to a high-quality kibble, it would have the same amount of calories roughly. Higher quality dog foods are more calorie dense because they don’t contain a bunch of “fillers” and have a higher percentage of meat. Most feeding recommendations are overkill for a lot of dogs. I would feed my dogs less than the recommended “daily value.” It doesn’t mean it’s a bad food. In hindsight it actually often times means the opposite. If a food only has 250 kcal per cup, a lot of dogs don’t often times do as well on it.
… But it is really aggravating that they don’t easily show the calorie content on their website! :/

The offers for subscriptions have nothing to do with food or distribution companies wanting to make things easier for you, they really could care less. Its all about what makes more $$'s for them, and sending and charging you for food more often than you probably need it, is very profitable for them. The part where they tell you, we are offering this to you for your convenience is, ------ well I think you get the idea.

no such thing as high end kibble
Some are good quality, however they tend to be relatively unknown - because they spend their money on research, and quality ingredients rather than flashy advertising.
its also available on Amazon...Surprise
Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean - why surprised?

Sorry, I didn’t mean for this to start turning into a kibble thread. What I meant was higher quality, in the range of kibble. I know that it isn’t “high quality” dog food. Say what you want about kibble, I know it’s not great, but a kibble like Farmina is definitely better than a kibble like dog chow.
I feed as much fresh dog food as I can afford. But because of my budget, I feed about half “high quality kibble.”
