Hey guys I’m thinking about getting this Alaskan Malamute and I want to make sure this dog is purebred .. I was told that they aren’t supposed to be born with blues eyes but this one has a blue eye ... but I’m curious because like some dogs they are born with them and they develop a brown as they get older I was wondering if that’s the case ? Someone please enlighten me !! In the last picture you can see the blue more .

Yes, I saw the photos. It is extremely unlikely the pup's eye color is going to change much, if at all, eye color is 'set' early on in a puppies life. I have seen young puppies with a blue 'haze' in their eyes, which clears up as they age, but this pup's iris appears to be blue, which is much different than the blue 'haze' in a young pup.
Could the eye color change? Maybe, a bit, but very doubtful!

I wouldn’t be convinced that it was necessarily caused by the cross-breeding of a husky etc...... it could just be a “defect”. When the AKC says they “can’t have blue eyes” that’s regarding their eligibility (or instant disqualification) in terms of show dogs showing for breed conformity.

White dogs can have numerous “issues” and this is just one of them.

My Dogo Argentino, by breed standards, must have brown, almond-shaped eyes, but he was born with one blue, so despite being AKC registered, and from purebred show lineage, he isn’t and will never be a show dog (not that I was interested in that)

I did receive a $1,000 discount on him, vs one that did conform to breed standards from the same litter, so perhaps take that into consideration when you talk to the breeder.
