These look like the American Cockers, they have heavy coats and there must be a lot of grooming involved too. PHEW!

 

I have a (rescue) cocker mix. I love him dearly, but between health and behavior I would not get another Cocker unless it came from an impeccable breeder.

 

I have only been bitten by one dog in my life, and it was a Cocker Spaniel. I was going inside a friend's house and he was letting me in when his dog charged. I was a young teenager and luckily it was a minor bite, but to this day, I stay clear of them.
