"The Paw Project" is a documentary about declawing cats on Netflix. Has anyone seen it? It's informative... And heart breaking. It talks about people that have declawed large cats (Lions, tigers...) and it ruins their feet. The bone tries to grow back and it infects their toes, the large cats can barely walk and when they do, it looks SO painful. It's heart breaking to see! And it's not even an issue for just large cats, they show clips of declawed domestic cats and their gait looks just as painful... :(

My parents have never de-clawed a cat, we've adopted two cats that were declawed, but I was never aware of what it did. Watching this made my heart break. :(

I hated declawing already, but I watched this documentary the other day and it made me hate it even more.

I mean, I understand why people do it, but there are other options that don't harm your cat. It's just plain cruel.

It was a fantastic documentary. I too hated declawing already, but I had never learned the details of this horrific procedure. The aftermath especially. I've recommended this doc to every cat owner I know, so they too can speak up if they know someone who is considering it or thinks it's ok. It's also important to speak up and ask your vet if they perform this procedure, and to not support ones that do.
