Hello ! I'm new to dog Forum, I have a three-year-old golden retriever lab 68 lb ..when she goes up steps her rear right leg hurts her. she yelps and screams ,
I have taken her to the vet and they don't know what the problem is and they're telling me to put her on "Gabapentin" this drug some type of Nero nerve drug. I did some research on this drug and it's got a lot of nasty, side effects , I have her on prednisone starting to wean her off , she has had an allergy to something ,
several weeks ago she's been itching and biting at her self , I have tried different foods no grain / limited ingredient top quality foods like fromm's different shampoos that were allogenic , so I'm very concerned not wanting to load her up with all these drugs, Just wondering if anybody else has had an issue ,she gets up from a sitting and lying down position walks run's somewhat and she's fine she's not panting she doesn't seem to be in any discomfort or pain until she goes up steps or left her right leg up, whenever I pick Her up I try to pick her up very carefully with my hands under her butt , my other arm under her chest and when I put her down she starts to yelp is well , wondering if anybody has an opinion or solution or had a situation like this with their own dog thank's Kona ,
