Rottweiler hotspots

Perhaps take the time to consider if there has been a change in diet ( addition of a new food or supplement) prior to the hotspots showing up, or possibly, that your pup has developed a sensitivity to something in his diet - which can happen over time.

Years ago when I was dealing with recurring hotspots (along with recurring ear infections) in my golden retriever, turned out his diet was the root cause, after changing his diet, he had no further problems.

To treat them, I used a lukewarm solution of strong brewed black tea - using the teabag as a 'compress' (if he would let me) or bathing/flushing the area with the solution, and gently patting the excess dry, three times a day. Often within a few days there were real signs of improvement.
Tea has tannic acid that helps to fight the infection, dry up the wound help it to heal.
