Hi all. Question... for those of you who work regular 8hr/day jobs, how do you fit in exercising your dog(s), particularly high-energy breeds, in the morning before work? From what I understand, you should wait at least 1 hour before eating or 2 hours after eating to help prevent bloat (GDV)... so do you exercise your dog before or after he/she eats breakfast? My dilemma is that if I feed my dog breakfast first and then wait 2 hours, I will have already gotten ready for work - I can't really go on a run, for example, at that point! 😁The alternative would then be to exercise my dog on an empty stomach. Is that normal? If not, is there a more practical way to tire out your dog in the morning before he/she is crated?
Note: This dog will be let out midday around lunchtime also, so it's not like he will be in a crate for 8 hours straight, but I would still like him to be tired out enough to settle and rest while I'm at work. Thanks!
