I have been doing some google searches on "Comfortis/ vs Frontline plus". I sure hate having the topicals on Niko's back and comforitis is eaten.. sounds a lot less messy...

So its not supposed to be rated for ticks but everyone says that it does repell them and better than frontline plus but that they cant put it on the box yet because it hasnt been proved in test.

Some say it made their dogs sick/vomit, others say its no problem but dont give HG plus until 2 weeks later.

Anyone here use it/hear about it working or not working? Is it as "safe" to use as frontline plus? (i wont use it during the winter months, same as HG since its too cold here in winter, so his system will get a "break" from it part of the year. I usually give the FL and HG every 3 months once there is snow on the ground that is sticking.)

Frontline has always worked pretty well for fleas but IMO does nothing for ticks. Im mostly thinking about the switch so as not to have to deal with the stuff on his back (no swimming or petting) /him trying to roll on his back to get it off after application.

Idea's?

Frontline stopped working here for fleas. Comfortis does work wonderfully. Though it doesn't repel or kill ticks. No stomach upset I have noticed no side effects. The past two months I have treated 12 large dogs and the fleas are gone.

Be careful using it with ivermectin as it can cause problems. I haven't had any issues yet, but I do space it about two weeks apart.
