We got these little fellas on Friday, through Craig's List. I think we were really lucky to get them as the woman said she had hundreds of replies to her ad. She was finding homes for 7 kittens, born to a mother she had adopted that turned out to be pregnant!
"Ferdinand" is 8.5 weeks old, orange and white, and just over 1 pound. "Panther" is 4 months old, all black and probably at least part Maine Coon Cat. He weighs about 4 pounds.
They came with fleas, earmites and probably worms! But that's all very easy to fix! They also came with very nice personalities and loads of confidence, especially Panther, who is just super calm and in control around our very active setter dogs.
Ferdinand is who we went to get from the lady. She then begged us to take Panther too, as she had several 4 month old cats someone had dropped off in her driveway in a box, and she said she had too many cats (about 6, after all the 7 kittens were gone, Ferdinand was the last to go.) It was impossible to turn Panther down, as he melted in our arms and purred, and he has hardly stopped purring since. He's just a super cat. Ferdinand is your typical incredibly adorable kitten, although he seems also to be quite brave! The two are good buddies, playing together, wrestling, and snuggling as well.
We were lucky to get an appointment with the vet on Saturday morning, so they are started on their vaccines, wormer, flea control etc. Revolution takes care of the fleas, mites and worms all at once! (it was also a free sample pack for each kitten!)
We are keeping them mostly confined to our bathroom until the fleas are gone for sure, and that seems to be true now. We let them play in our bedroom for a couple of hours. They LOVED it! We tucked them back into their bathroom and later found them cuddled on a shelf together, thus the picture!
