Introducing myself, and Chloe

Hi! I'm Lauren, I'm 19, and I love animals. I have one dog, a dachshund/chihuahua mix named Chloe. I have owned several dogs, and have researched dog breeding, showing, etc (however plan to do neither - i used to). Dogs are my passion, however, I have many passions, Music being one, and I hope to be a musician someday. I also love Photography, Reading, Writing, etc.

Anyway, I'll introduce Chloe, now. :) She's a 5-6 year old Dachshund/Chihuahu mix. Friends of ours rescued her from animal control (where she spent THREE MONTHS!!!) and realized soon after that she just wasn't the dog for them, but they didn't have the heart to send her back to that place, so they decided to foster her until they could find her a new home. Little did they know, three days after they got her, we came to visit them (We are in Tennessee, they are in Alabama) and fell in love with her. :)

A while back she went through an incident where she was attacked by 4 large breed dogs (an ACD, ACD mix, and two GSD mixes) and nearly died. She had over 20 punctures all over her body, and was herniating, and needed surgery. She was very weak, and very nearly died (we didn't think she would make it, and even the vets weren't sure she'd be okay) but she made it through, and we are SO GLAD! She is doing VERY well now. She still has scars, but her hair is growing back where they had to shave her, and her incision from her surgery is healed. We're so glad that we didn't lose her.

Here are some photos of her!

Welcome to the forum! :)

So sorry to hear what happened to Chloe! It must have been awful for you. One of my dogs was attacked by an Alsatian when she was younger and ever since she's never liked them. She was crabbed by the neck and thrown on the floor it was awful! My very brave brother risked getting bitten to try and save her. Luckily she wasn't hurt too badly but its never nice when your pets in pain :(

and i LOVE Chihuahuas as a breed! Iv always wanted one :)

Thank you!

Wow, that's AWFUL! I'm glad she's okay! And thank you, yes it was very scary!

Me too, Chloe is my first (and she's mixed - i've never had a true chihuahua) but I hope to get a purebred Chihuahua soon! If not soon, then eventually, LOL!
