My cousin’s cat had 4 kittens. I ended up with one of them. He’s 8 weeks old, and I need eyes at the back of my head with him. :ROFLMAO:

The girls know he’s there, and have had a sniff around (Milly, being a sight hound, will be on lead until I can trust her), while Kaylus was safe in a play pen, but they haven’t really “met” yet. I’m planning on introducing him to Honey first, with her being closer to his size. :LOL:

I googled names meaning Trouble Maker. :LOL: :ROFLMAO: As soon as I saw it, I knew it was the one. :D It's gender neutral, so if he turns out to be a she, I don't have to change it.

He's supposed to be the "calm" one. All I can say is, the others must be flipping lunatics :LOL:
Dad was quick to point out that it's also the name of the Klingon Messiah/war god. :rolleyes:

So cute! Good luck with your kitten adventures they grow so quickly!
Thank you. :D

Well, the three of them have met through the safety of a baby gate. I sat on the ground behind the gate with Kaylus, to stop him from going through it.

It went OK, as far as I can tell. The girls were curious, but no staring, and Kaylus had his tail up, and curled at the tip, hissed at them from the safety of the other side of my legs, so he seemed confident. Seems to be more drawn to Milly than Honey, too, at the moment, which, as she is the more playful, makes a certain amount of sense - in a terrifying kind of way.

I’ve been worried about him not eating, but he’s just used the litter box (literally, a shallow delivery box taped together with some cat litter in), so he must have eaten something in the last 24hrs. I’ve just come back in from a walk with the girls, and checked on him and he’s sound asleep, so I’m spending some quality time with the girls (and drinking lemonade because I probably need the sugar and definitely need the caffeine🤪 :LOL: )

I think the ganging up on Hooman has started. : 🤪 (and I’m very, very lucky that’s as bad as it got).

I was busy putting some food down for Kaylus, and knew he was behind me.

I turned around, straightened up, and saw Kaylus standing in the middle of the living room. I said “the living room door’s open.m, isn’t it?)

Yup. And the girls were on the other side of the baby gate (which, luckily, was locked - am not a complete idiot :LOL: )

Milly had her ears up in her curious position, nose sniffing the air, sidekick Honey beside her, not doing much at all🤪 😁 )

They got a swift “Good Girls” and a pet before I closed the door.

Kaylus, meanwhile, has found out how to play Keep Aways. (I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if Milly told him the rules of the game)🤨:cautious:He had great fun, running around the room loaded with energy from 4 pieces of kibble. :LOL:

I finally catch him, place him in the enclosure with his food, and leave the living room.

Milly and Honey had used the diversion to get into the kitchen and help themselves to the open pack of kitten food I’d accidentally left on the counter.

I’d done so well, too, keeping them away from the plate of kitten food while Kaylus ignored it. :rolleyes:

Yup. They’re going to run rings around me, aren’t they? 🤪😒:rolleyes::LOL:

It’ll be a week tomorrow since Kaylus came home. Introductions between him and the girls are continuing to go well, to the point where this morning, I let them meet without a barrier between them, feeding the girls treats, while playing with Kay and his fishing rod.

This afternoon, things went a step better. This time. Kaylus was in his enclosure “for a nap”, but he had other ideas… of course he did. So while I tried to have my lunch in peace, in the living room as opposed to my bedroom, with all 3 of my more sentient pets around me (Kaylus screaming his disapproval at being behind bars when there was food to be had), Milly went over to see him, her tail whipping from side to side in her “Hello Friend” manner.

God help me if they become best friends. I dread to think of the mischief the Original Trouble Maker Madam Milly Lurcher and her two little sidekicks could cleft up to. 😳😱🤪 🤪 🤪 :ROFLMAO: :LOL:

Using one of the girls’ puzzle feeders (now that he’s more settled in, he got it very quickly);

The pic that will let me forgive him all his Naughty Mischievousness;

Making a mockery of my attempts to contain him to the living room (Luckily, the girls were safely enclosed in the bedroom in this pic)

The obligatory cat in a box pic;

He’s finally started to take wet food, too.

Kaylus is 11 weeks old as of yesterday. And this is where we are with intros;

This was the first of this set of pics to be taken. Honey wasn’t in the room at this point (I don’t know what the random plank of wood is doing in the middle of the floor, but I intend to use it for a shelf for Kaylus to walk along);

Realizing that the white stuff I’m giving the girls is chicken;

Kaylus was 12 weeks old yesterday.

The girls and Kaylus are becoming sick of being separated, I think, so they’ve spent a lot more time together today - under supervision, of course.

This is from this afternoon;

I’m calling it… Milly and her Criminal Mastermind Gang. :D (and doesn’t she look pleased with herself?)

A couple (or 7 :D ) more pics of Kaylus and the girls…

Kaylus; I hunts big sis. She not knows I is even here.
Milly; “Nope, haven’t seen you, little lad. Haven’t seen you at all.”
Image

This better. She really can’t see me now;

Nothing if not persistent, he tried again yesterday, doing the same moves as above. He thought she was sound asleep. Didn’t expect her to wake up.

Oh, crumbs! She woke up. Hoooommannnnn!!!
Image

And to think, I was worried about Milly playing Chase the Cat. :rolleyes:

Then, this morning, he decided to play Attack the blinds, so I put a scratch mat on the windowsill, and tied a feather to some string, and hung it from the curtain bracket (only used under supervision - I took it down when I had to go out).

Honey and Kaylus seem to be getting on better, too. This was the result of yesterday’s game of Hunt the Sisters.

And finally, I got him a specially designed treat dispenser. Here he is, trying to work it out A bit tentative at first, but In the end he was batting the heck out of it;

Kaylus is growing fast. And, he’s a little 🤬 😂 but things continue to go well between him and the girls;

Some pics;

I love this one;

This was take this morning, and shows both Milly’s level of patience, and Kay being a 🤬😁

Side-by-side comparison between Honey and Kay - I’ve no idea what he’s doing here, but this wasn’t posed. It was taken yesterday;

He’s booked in to be neutered on 6th Sep. I know he’ll be fine, but I’m already dreading it.

Kay was neutered yesterday. He was fine, and I picked him up at 3:30, expecting a very sleepy little boy.

Oh no. Not Kaylus. 🙄.

Yesterday, he woke up in Extra Bratty Mode, and when he came home and had something to eat, he continued with Extra Bratty Mode. Vet said only give him half a pouch of gastrointestinal food, but the poor boy was famished, so he ended up having all that (not all at once), and some kibble before I put him to bed.

I woke up early today and checked on him and he’s been on the go non stop for the last 30mins. He’s had some kitten kibble in a couple of empty toilet roll holders, kicked and batted the life out of two of his toys, tried to panther hug my leg twice, and stalked an unused zipper (I’m into sewing), that was “hiding” under the TV stand.

Why on Earth would he take it easy? 🙄😂

Some pics;

This was taken yesterday morning (some of these will also be on Petforums)

Thanks, Jo. :D I think he’s going to be a big lad. He’s 2.35kg already.

He was bothering it last night, but so far today, he hasn’t been too bad. Vet told me to just tell him to “get off it” if I see him bothering it.

He’s so full of beans I’m wondering if it really was an anaesthetic they gave him. 🤣 🤪 I’ve got a doughnut Elizabethan collar-replacement thingy on order from Amazon, just in case. :)

#23 ·
Hi-jinks?! The three of them will be lucky not to end up on eBay after the week I’ve had with them. Sold to anyone daft enough (like me) to take them on 🤪🤣😂

Milly’s a lurcher (Whippet x Jack/Parson Russell Terrier, we think). Honey’s a pure bred Chihuahua. :)

And Kaylus is a domestic cat x Black Panther x Hellcat.

Kaylus was 6 months a couple of weeks ago. Everyone’s getting on so well, although I do have to keep Kay from tormenting the girls. A few days ago, he was pushing his luck, tapping Honey on her tail. She growled and he scarpered, only to recover and really play with fire by doing the same to Milly’s foot. He had the sense to scarper again when she twitched an ear at him.

He hasn’t eaten much today, but he goes on these “hunger strikes.” At least, that’s what I thought. Until I wentto take my mug into the kitchen, and found him helping himself to a bag of cat treats I’d thought he wasn’t interested in.

Milly says she taught him well and couldn’t be prouder of him. 🙄😁

Some pics of the little hooligan (in whatever order the computer decides to upload them in);

This was taken tonight. The liquid is water - not vodka, tempting though it is at times. 🤪🤣
