I went to the humane society looking for a small breed puppy. Somehow I walked out with a 1-year-old Rottweiler/Shepherd Mix! Sadie was the first dog I saw and my heart just melted. She is the sweetest thing in the world. She is a BIG dog! The shelter had her listed as 90.5 pounds. My vet said she is a good weight, too! The shelter already had her spayed and gave her all her vaccines, so I'm very happy about that. However, when I brought her home I realized that she is not house trained. Oh well...It can't be that hard with a young adult large breed female, can it? Sadie is kind of a reddish chestnut orange color with a nice short coat. I'm really excited to have her. This is my first dog ever! I finally got my own place and thought I needed a companion. Her adoption fee was only $50 and the shelter sent me home with a home package of stuff for her! They gave me two bowls, a huge bag of Hill's Science Diet Adult Large Breed, a collar and a leash! They also gave me the chance to buy additional supplies for discount prices; a big crate, crate mat and shampoo!

I own a rottieshepherd as well, I got her as a rescue when she was 4! They are just amazing dogs. SO LOYAL and easy to train. Congratz on such a beautiful dog! It is so interesting how the two breeds mix! It seems like yours has the rottie body and the shepherd colors. My girl is the opposite. She has the shepherd body and the rottie colors.

Here is a picture of my girl baby! She is 10 years old now and so sweet.

I wish you so much joy with your new best friend! If you ever need any training tips let me know! Although I don't think you will need them, these dogs are so loyal, and easy to train its incredible!

It's awesome to see somebody else who has a Rottweiler/Shepherd Mix! I've had Sadie for just a few days and she is the most devoted dog I've ever known! She is so good-natured, too. It's so nice that everybody thinks she is beautiful, as I do too! Sadie looks like a solid red Rottweiler to me. Your girl is beautiful. She looks a little more shepherd than Sadie, but very similar. She is gorgeous! She looks great for 10, too! I've taken Sadie out on walks and have found she is very friendly with other dogs, even the smallest ones. We are starting a training class at Petco on Monday (adult dog level 1). We are working on house training and I would say she is about 80% there already!

Congratulations! Puppies are so much WORK. I took home a year-old dog too and it was pretty great to have a dog that was more or less (maybe less because of her anxiety LOL) plug-n-play. We could go on big hikes right away without tiring her out and potty training came quickly to her. She hasn't chewed any of my furniture to bits and she's big and sturdy enough to play with the dogs I work with. You will have so much fun with her as she settles in! I love adult dogs. LOL.
