Groomed puppy acting weird

My Havanese puppy who is almost a year old got her first real grooming. She has high anxiety in general so we haven't had luck with grooming in the past. We found one who will take a puppy like her (i.e., anxious and a bit nippy).

She had thick hair on her ears and around her face and those areas got pretty matted. So there was alot of fur removed there. Her ears look a lot thinner than they were and are definitely lighter given all the matts that needed cut out.

Since she's been home (more than 24 hrs), she is clearly disturbed by it. Won't stop shaking her head and is behaving weird. Normally she always wants to be near us but she keeps running off and burying her head. I cant tell if she's itchy or adjusting to the feel. Or if something is wrong. It's the change in behavior that has me concerned. Will the fur grow back on her ears? Will that help? Am I reacting too early and need to just wait? Thanks for any advice.

I'm with The above post on this. Definitely take her to the vet and have her ears checked. Not saying the groomer did anything wrong, but something may have happened to cause a problem in one or both of her ears, and infection is possible. If there's an infection it needs to be seen to immediately, as an ear infection can be painful and also can get serious very rapidly.

Best to have the dog groomed every 4 to 5 weeks in the future, to avoid this happening. Matts are very uncomfortable for a dog and can become painful, which can affect the dog's whole life.
