My tuxedo cat of eight years has an appointment with the vet on Monday at 11:30... to be PTS. She has been suffering from colitis... we have tried a colitis pill, a UTI pill, a powder, AND a shot. The vet told us the shot was the last option.

While there seems to be less blood in her stool her habits wont stop. Just last night she peed in different spots of the house, three times. She has been peeing on cloths and shoes for over a year now and goes number two on our steps. W ehave moved her food dishes, bought a ne wlitter box, and a new water bowl... but nothing is working...

So on Monday I will have to say goodbye...

It os going to be one long weekend, yet, not long enough. It will be so strange not having her sleep next to me every night....

Thank you Zoorun... I managed to stall my parents for quite some time. Originally (Before we knew she was sick) they wanted to re-home her. But she only likes certain kinds of people, hates other cats, and she is older and pees on stuff, so I told them no. Because I don't think she would ever find another home and I didn't want her to be in a shelter for the rest of her life. She cries whenever im not around.

What makes me feel guilty is that she is still happy and running around... but the vet said colitis turns to cancer and that if the colitis shot didn't work nothing would. It doesnt help though, that the receptionist kept making us feel guilty. my mom called the office and the receptionist kept saying "try different food. I can give you more pills. Dont do it if there is more medicine you can try, shes still young." But the vet herself told us there is nothing else we can do.

Mom is so nervous to take her today because she doesnt want to see the lady at the desk :(

It has almost been a full year since I lost my Annabelle.
My boyfriend and I were in Petco and we saw a little male tuxedo kitten that had almost the same exact markings as Annie. Except this kitten's head actually fit with his body. When Annie was a kitten she had a giant head and teeny tiny eyes.

I started getting really teary and had to walk away before I started crying.

For that small moment, I considered getting another cat when I move out. But I already have two parrots and a dog so... it will be a while.

So sorry :huddle: I know it gets a littler easier with time, but some things just set us off don't they. I always try to think about how lucky we were to have such lovely animals in our lives, for however long or short that may be, & I'm sure they felt the same about having us in their lives too. Annie will always be loved by you @KodaKeet :)
