Feral cats destroy wildlife. And die by cars or disease like i said if you let emotion get in the way of logic....

Id rather euth ferals than be scraping dead kittens out of the road all year Honestly its euth or alter. But even altered outdoor cats are devistating to wildlife jmho

our squirrels here are like the rambos of the squirrel world. ever see a squirrel chase an 81lb rottweiler puppy. tad amusing. And bird we have stupid starlings, my favorite blue jays(those are some bad ass birds), crows(google auburn ny and crows lol you will see what i mean), pigeons and a bunch of lil sparrows.

You have more than just that, trust me, and squirrels everywhere can chase a dog, it doesn't make them safe from cats. I hope biologists one day are given the "go ahead!" With trapping and eradicating feral cats both for the wildlife, the people who hit em on the roads (or the people who swerve to miss and cause an accident) and even for their own good.

i know they do damage. im also pretty sure i can if i can get help trapping the one momma and freds siblings find them homes they are beautiful cats.

yea we have more than that but i cant think of the names of the other birds(i love bird watching)SO far momma and freds siblings havent messed with the birds at the feeders.

I love the squirrels each morning there is about 15 of them outside(got black walnut trees next to my property). i will have to get some more pics of the squirrels and sampson sitting on the top of the fence. the squirrels drop nuts on the cats heads.

Is there any way you could trap and neuter any of ferals to send to farms? though I know that most farms already have cats.

of course I am sure the problem is more the faster accumulation of cats before you can get rid of the ones you already have...

that is the problem no matter how many get s/n you have more getting dumped.

Feral cats dont normally get dumped, they are either house pets that get dumped or lost, or feral cats that were born to a feral environment. I think the answer is to unfortunately get rid of them, I read an article that explains the damage ferals do and how altering them doesnt help that aspect.

what i mean is it starts out as two females being dumped. kittens are born thus the cycle starts again with kittens who are born without human contact and dont trust humans. the two females may have started out as pets but in short time they also grow to distrust humans why should they trust them? theyve been either tossed out of a house, a moving car, over fences, mistreated, they have no reason to trust us but to fear us.

This is a kitten that was found in a condemned house covered in fleas and ticks. We found her a good home she is a tail less kitten. Very cute.

The feral siamese mix we trapped brought her in for some medical and released her, she is spayed too wild to be a housecat, she would attack you through the crate and im sure if she had been able to would of bitten people. She is a big cat estimated to be around 3 or 4 yrs and possibly born outside

i could go on and on lol. since moving here last february I have managed to relocate many younger ones but like i said its the pregnant ones that get dumped that restart the whole process over again.
we try to trap them each year for an up dated rabies shot and a physical. the last one we rehomed was a young female she was gorgeous. nice tiger markings.

lol, I have that same cat tree...

aren't siamese cross eyed occasionally? interesting :)
i dont have the cat tree anymore..8 cats not supposed to fit on it at one time..it collapsed!!

and yes siamese occasionally have crossed eyes. which makes me think momma has a lil meezer in her. id love to tame her enough to bring her in the house and then find her a home.

well the cats ranged from 12lbs to 24lbs lol. thats alot of weight. thankfully they found homes except for the senior he is here and close to his time. i remember when siamese were not as popular and didnt get dumped but now they are getting dumped and on CL for free. :(

cats are so over populated its sad. That's why mine are altered lol and indoors only. I see pet cats dead on the road all the time.
