Favorite wet cat food? New cat! :)

Long story short is that we adopted a cat. We are still working on a name. He was a stray turned into my work (animal hospital) although it is obvious he was once kept in a home, probably with dogs, as he doesn't even bat an eyelash at the dogs. We waited the two weeks stray hold, trying to find his owners, but no dice.

He seems like a relatively young cat. He is super sweet and cuddly, and likes to sit in laps. Very tolerant of handling/petting/being picked up, and has a cute tiny meow. He's also a really pretty cat.

Anyway, ideally i'd switch him to raw at a later date but for now I am planning to feed strictly wet food, as i know there can be many issues with feeding cats dry food. So, favorite wet foods? I'm willing to spend some $$ as I know from feeding my dogs that the better quality food you buy, the healthier the animal, of course.

Also, thinking of commercial raw if it's in the budget or not too much more than just wet/canned.

:D

I feed Authority. It's not the highest quality, but it's not bad and it doesn't have fruits or veggies, and isn't loaded with filler and that's all I was looking for in a wet food. My cats have been on it for a year now and they're looking great. :)

I don't feed wet food often and I forget which ones my cat loved. But I can tell you which is the worst! Purina wet cat food any flavor! My cat started vomiting shortly after consumption.

Thanks, all!

And Jeru, I wouldn't touch that stuff with a 10ft pole! I'm not surprised to hear it made your kitty sick. :(

He was getting Nutro wet at work so I took a few cans home. He had some this morning. He was also free feeding on their dry cat food so for the first night I did the same. Do you think I should feed that dry for a while to help him adjust, or just go right to only canned? Hmmm.

Does he go to the dry food at all? I could leave all kinds of it out for my cats but they binge on the wet food so they wouldn't touch it unless it was an emergency, even then, they would probably manage to get the neighbors attention with the yelling! :p

You could always leave the dry food out for an x amount of time during the day and then shorten the time and/or the amount?

He is beautiful! :)

Wellness, Merrick, Dave's, Blue Buffalo, Fromm, Fussie Cat, Redbarn, By Nature, Nature's Variety, Natural Balance, Weruva, Earthborn, Applaws(not a complete diet though), Verus, Mauri, Ziwi Peak, Evangers, Holistic Select, Wild Calling, Hound and Gatos.

Those are just a few. I only feed grain free cans though to my cats and I switch brands all the time. I always get a variety.

For commercial raw, good ones are Rad Cat, Nature's Variety, Feline Pride, Bravo, Primal, and Stella and Chewys.

My personal favorite is Rad Cat but it's kind of expensive.

Unfortunately my cats do not have a favorite . They refuse to eat wet food . However they do eat an excellent quality low carb kibble , Natures Variety Instinct Grain Free Rabbit . I have tried many many brands of wet but have not yet found one that they will eat .
