Now, this is NOT one of those videos that is supposedly funny but is actually cat(s) who are frightened or getting hurt. I really hate those.

This is a happy cat.

Very "scary" cat obsessed with a tiny almond

It will be your laugh of the day.šŸ˜„

I love the crab walk!

Her addiction to the almonds is like my Looney2 with his "worms" (aka elastic hair bands). He carries them everywhere and they fling from his paws beautifully. I have to remove them from the tub to take a shower because he corrals them in there. It's the only place they can't escape.

One time, I was downstairs and I saw my plush throw blanket tumbling down the stairs. It took a second look to see the 8 month old kitten dragging it in his teeth. It had been on the bed and ended up in the dining room. I couldn't figure out why until I picked it up and a worm fell out. A few nights later he was pulling the comforter off the bed - yep, a worm was trying to hide from him in the folds.

He's the cat who watched every Nature episode about African lions. He enjoyed some of the other shows, but he was mesmerized by the lions.

I had found him under my car hood when he was 7 weeks. He had a burned paw and limped. His Dr said he'd schluff off the burnt skin in a week or so and heal. The next night, he and I watched a Nature episode about a lioness who had an injured paw and took down a wildebeast (or something else big). On my word, the next day, Looney2 stopped limping. He is my mighty lion and is 13lbs now (not even 2yrs).

toedtoes, such great stories about your cat.
I had a marvelous cat for 17 years. He would always sit with me if I were reading or watching a movie. Never seemed to look at the screen unless a cat went by, but sat right up and watched intently any time there was a cat of any variety on the screen, even if it were for only a few seconds.
I found that interesting. I think it's something so fundamental about how all felines move, whether house cat or lion or lynx or other type, that he always saw that and watched it.

Thanks. Cats are definitely similar regardless of size. Fortunately, we haven't bred the wild cat completely out of our pets.

Several years back, I visited a wild cat sanctuary. The owner gave me a behind the scenes tour. He showed me an abused midsized wildcat that had just been confiscated from the owner. Seeing how that cat behaved and handled being in a new scary place and hearing how he was working with her was deja vu. It was exactly how you would handle an abused housecat and the behaviors were exactly the same as an abused housecat.

I've had some amazing cats over the years. One of my favorite stories is about one female grey tuxedo cat. She had these beautiful fat cheeks and I got into the habit of giving them a light pinch. She hated it. One day, when she glared at me, I said "if you don't want me to pinch your cheeks anymore, then bring me a baby kitten".

That night, I was watching classic Doctor Who and at the break, went to the back door to call the cats in for the night. When I opened the door, there was a little furry brown tabby kitten sitting on the top step. Sitting on the railing was my cat. I never pinched her cheeks again.

Honest to Cat Gods true story.

When I asked "and who are you?" to the kitten, I heard "they call me the Doctor", so I named him Little Doctor Who.

I believe this story completely. Cats are amazing creatures, and many are startlingly intelligent.

While dogs and human beings sort of evolved together by mutual consent and benefit, I think cats to this day only hang around us for their own benefit. This doesn't mean they don't love us, those who do, but as you say the wild is still there and personally I don't think anyone can ever breed the wild out of cats. At least, I sure hope not. That wildness is a big part of what cats are about.

I love this cat. Thanks for sharing Madra Anamchara! @toedtoes, you might like this story. I was volunteering at a no-kill cat shelter at the time. So, with cat-friendly cats, they had a room a "colony" would share. Anyways, I was in the room with several and I gave a try at mimicking a purr. And I got it right. I know I did because they all looked at me with huge eyes, and you could see the shock, and gasp she speaks our language. A couple of the cats closest to me then closed their eyes and purred back. One of the top ten greatest moments of my life.

I love that! I was watching a show about cats and a scientist explained that cats only vocalize (meow) to people. They do not meow to each other. Funny because my Looney1 routinely meows and Looney2 immediately runs to him. Has nothing to do with me at all.
