My question is "How do You handle evening zoomies?"I currently have a 23 week old Catahoula Puppy that I'm working on raising & sometimes it would be nice to have someone to get advice from concerning training.

Puppies need nearly constant supervision, attention, and training. Adult dogs, assuming they have a stable temperament and a good training foundation, are reasonably content to chill at home while you are off working for a few hours.
My most recent puppies were pandemic puppies. I was home every day with them because I was working from home. I would get up in the morning, take them out and play for a bit, then stick the puppy in the crate next to my desk. I'd be online at 8 and work until ~10. Then a break to go outside, back into the crate again, work until noon, then another break. Back into the crate at 1, work until a break at 3, then back in the crate until 4:30 or so. After that some play time until it was time for me to cook dinner. After dinner was more play time, then evening zoomies, then into the crate for the first half of the night. Up at 2AM to take the puppy out, then back into the crate until morning. I actually had two crates and an exercise pen, so the puppy moved around the house with me to different enclosures.
My previous puppies were a juggling act with friends and family. I was working second shift and my husband was working day shift. I would drop the puppies off with a friend before I went to work, and my husband would pick them up on his way home. For a while my MIL was living with us. After that a friend who had fallen on hard times stayed with us for a while. They were willing to do a bit of basic dog care as far as feeding and letting the dogs out.
Now that the latest batch of puppies are grown, I'm able to leave them alone in the mornings and afternoons. After Covid I was forced to start going into the office again during the day. For a while I had a dog walker come in to let the dogs out at lunch. That's $10 per visit. (I honestly don't know how she can afford to keep food on the table at that pay rate; she doesn't take multiple dogs out together, as some dog walkers do.) My husband changed jobs and now works close to where we live, so he comes home for lunch every day. My senior dog would be fine left alone all day. My junior dog has a touch of separation anxiety. He's fine as long as he has the company of senior or me. He isn't pleased to be left with only my husband for company, and he'd probably lose his mind if he were left completely alone by himself. Scheduling always involves making sure junior dog isn't left alone.
