We had a dog whose skin started looking like elephant skin, and it didn't smell very good. He would scratch day and night. After many trips to the veterinarian, nothing worked......... UNTIL my husband's boss took him in rather than having him put down. God bless him and his wife. They took Rocky to a Veterinarian who used a holistic treatment, and he looks and smells great! I am posting this because we loved Rocky and couldn't bear to watch him suffer from the constant itching, not knowing if he was in pain. So if this helps anyone, as I read many heartbreaking stories while trying to help him, it is worth the time.
We live in a rural area in CA., where the amazing couple that adopted him lives on the outskirts of the beautiful city of Walnut Creek, CA. I mention that if someone might want to try to find or have their veterinarian find the holistic treatment, if possible. I'm sorry, I never asked the name of the place they took him. I will try to do so, but my parents are aging and need my help, so my time is spent. I had previously mentioned to the couple that it would be great if they posted about Rocky's journey.
Anyway, I spoke to a person whose dog was experiencing this issue recently, and they suggested I share Rocky's story, even though I don't know a lot about it. He said just mentioning the holistic part might help others.
