Hey everyone, I'm hoping to get some tips, experiences and general advice from members with diabetic cats or experience with diabetic cats. I need insider tips. ;) Links to informative sites about regulating insulin at home as well as links to sites which sell cheap syringes and lancets would be great. Also, recommendations for well-priced pet RX sites would be super helpful. I'm just trying to save as much as I can on supplies, as my girl's new diet, along with all the vet trips/expenses, is pricey! I've never had an animal with a chronic condition before, so this is all new to me, and quite overwhelming. :(

I am so sorry to hear about your kitty!

I've never dealt with diabetes but I have dealt with UTI's so I read and still read a lot about a cats nutrition needs, health and anything cat (and dog) related!

Here are a couple of links that might help -

I hope those will be of some help! :huddle:

Thank you SO much for your reply! Those sites are really helpful! I had been thinking about joining that forum and talking with some of the people there. I should just go ahead and finally make a profile there. My vet says they match 1-800-pet-meds' prices on insulin, but I wanted to see if I can find it any cheaper. I get 45 days worth of Vetsulin for $50, it's not too bad but I'd like to find it cheaper if it's possible, or pay that amount without spending the gas money to go pick it up at the vets' office. ETA: Ok, found it for 44 total with shipping. Nevermind. :)

Of course! I'm glad if any of it helped! And if you do have more questions, please post!
Like I said - I might not know the answers right away but I'm getting really good at research! ;)
