Cat Door with Timer?

Does anyone have a cat door that has a timer on it, to lock the cats indoors at night automatically?

I'm looking at this hugely expensive thing, and wondering if it works. It gets mixed reviews on Amazon.

Specifically my question is, does it HAVE to be used with a collar tag? Or can it simply be used as a cat door with a timer on it? We don't have trouble with strays here, but I do know from experience that keeping a collar on a cat is nearly impossible if the cat is young and active, as are ours.

So, all I really want, is a simple door that can be set to lock/unlock twice a day. Anyone have recommends?

When I had a cat door years ago it just had a latch where we locked or unlocked it ourselves. I think that would be better so you know for sure your cats and only your cats are inside. I guess I would just worry that somehow it would lock a cat out all night.. lol

We have a door like that right now.

My point is to have it lock automatically if we forget to do it, or if we are away over night.
