I am in the process of getting my associates in veterinary technology....coming from a behavior background, I am surprisingly a fan of, at least temporarily medicating for anxiety and/or pain issues.

If you can break the pain cycle through joint injections and/or oral meds you may be able to wean your dog off the prozac.

What will happen without the prozac (probably) is your dog will probably develop whats called a "lick granuloma" on her foot and/or toe which is basically a hot spot that develops a secondary infection and are basically impossible to get rid of.
