I'm hoping that was an attention getting title.....
My 7.5 year old border collie started licking his foot/knuckle. Obsessively. I took him to the vet today who did xrays and he has arthritis around the knuckle area.
1 Vet said he wants to treat the discomfort , first. If my boy continues to lick non stop, then he wants to give prozac. He feels that the contentious licking is creating more swelling/soreness. Well, i'm sure it's not helping the skin.
I'm a tad annoyed because i know this dog will continue to lick. He is a dog that has been afraid of everything since i pulled him from a house that had 30 of them.
Any experience with this double sward? Has anyone had their dog on prozac?
He RX'd Tramadol.
TY (so glad i found this place again)
