Miss Ellie Mae has her forever home. The arrived about 10:30 AM and Miss Ellie was her normal spunky self for them. Jumping and licking and playing. Bandit (their sheltie) didnt' really like this rude interloper and was more interested in sniffing the other dogs in the crates... Ellie warmed right up to them and they were just as taken with her. So you might say it was a match made in Heaven. We're so happy that Ellie has her forever home. Have a wonderful life sweet Ellie, you will be missed....

That's wonderful! I think often about getting into fostering, but I fear I'd never be able to let them go. :D

I have to let the fosters go because I've been in this business long
enough to know that when I let one go from the safety of my home to go
to a new life and a new family there are at least two waiting for me
to welcome them into my loving arms... That's how I can let them
go... I can't save them all and I can't keep them all but I can help
them while they are with me and cheerfully let them go so I can start
all over again with another deserving dog.

What a heartwarming story! I have visited my local shelter and think it would be ever so hard to foster and let go. Weekly volunteering is more my schtick.
Hugs to all.
