Hey... I have a question about where my dog likes to lay down. He lays everywhere, including the furniture, but mostly he seems to like to lay on hard floors. Just curious why that would be. He likes the wood floor in the dining room, the tile floor by the front door, and the concrete floor in the laundry room. (Mostly he lays on the wood floor.)

Anyone know why a dog would like a hard floor instead of a carpeted floor or padded chair?

Thanks!

What breed of dog do you have? The hard floors are cool against their warm skin, this could be the reason why your pup likes to lay down there.

He's a labradoodle. His fur is not too thick, but maybe be is better insulated than he looks. :)

Hard floors are cooler, that's most often the reason for them. Just because the carpet may look more comfortable to you, it might not be so great for your pet. Also almost every carpet is made out of synthetic material which causes static electricity. Depending on your dogs coat type they may occasionaly get an unpleasent shock from laying on the carpet.
