Ok. Going nuts. Emmie is whining in crate relentlessly. We crate her at times (like when kids are eating at low table). She used to whine a bit, then give up. We never let her out when she is whining and treating her for being quiet causes whining.
Maybe try covering the front of the crate with a blanket or something, so she can't see you. And keep it in a quiet part of the house.
Sounds like you're already doing this, but most importantly, don't give in to it! My puppy whined on and off for a few months. We never responded to it, though, and now she almost never does.
Good luck!
Sounds like what you're doing is right. One thing I would add is to crate her randomly (instead of just when she needs to be put out of the way), and make sure good things happen when she's in her crate. Maybe a favorite toy that she only plays with in there. Have her eat all her meals in there, and let her take a post meal nap in there too.
