Which name do you like better for a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever?

My husband and I would like to get a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever and last night we discussed the idea of using a list of municipalities in Nova Scotia to find a name. We each found one on the list we liked. Which do you think makes a better name:

  • Argyle
  • Halifax

I like Halifax, you can shorten it to Haaaaaaaali!
But with Argyle, you can shorten it to Arrggg! if he comes back with driftwood instead of a duck. :p

The name Scotty derived from Nova Scotia (New Scotland) could also work with that regional naming stuff -also works if you're a Star Trek fan ;)

*but from your 2 choices, I like Halifax better.
Hal-i-fax and Arg-y-le have the same amount of syllables...so I don't see how that's a determining factor between the two choices. I also don't think 3 syllables is overly long for a dog's name.

True about the syllables, oops. Ari is a good one. Maybe it's my accent causing it to be so long in comparison for me, As are drawn out for me. I didn't mean any offense, it was just something that came to mind as helpful to consider.
In no way were you offensive!

Maybe I need to use more furballs when I point some things out>>> :ponder: :p :)
