Let me BUMP this post up and say ALASKA BABY! Though I will be moving from here... Not sure when, but when I do, it will be a place where there are regular seasons like 3 months of spring 3 months of summer, 3 months of fall and 3 months of winter instead of 6 to 7 months of winter, 1 month spring, 1 month summer, 3 to 4 months of fall.

I'm in the Muskoka area, about 2 hours north of Toronto Ontario (what folks from Toronto consider "cottage country"). We moved here from Toronto, where I was born, in early 2013. And now that I have Layla I can't imagine living in a city again. I don't think she'd love it.

I live about 40 minutes east of Toronto in Canada. I love it because it's still close enough to the "big city" but far enough removed that it's very family oriented, safe and still has lots of green!
