I dont recomend the pads because ive heard that some dogs start to pee on anything on the ground thinking its the pad, like shirts and papers..ect. And to me they are a wast of money.

Depends on how old the puppy is. I start potty training right when I get it! If you have other dogs then I would suggest starting in a place where other dogs havent been like front yard. Unless it does have all shots...
