Age of puppy: 10 weeks
Breed: Miniature Schnauzer
Duration of ride home: 2 hours

What sort of set-up should we have for him in the car? How often do you think we'll need to stop for him to use the 'services'? He would have had his shots by then so it shouldn't be a problem to take him outside. If anyone has any pictures of their set-up for their puppy's first ride home, onder:that would be SUPER handy.

A crate secured by a seat belt is a good idea. Many people bring a friend to hold the puppy, thinking that the ride will be less traumatic, but in an accident an unbelted puppy will fly through the front window.

A hard-sided crate with a towel or soft blanket, something to chew on, paper towels and wipes in the car in case puppy gets motion sickness or has an accident. Our puppy whimpered for the first five minutes and then slept the whole 2 hour drive home.
