I adopted this pup at 8 weeks old from the Seattle Humane Society in September 2014. Her papers called her a "hound mix", but there was no other information on the parents. Anyone have any thoughts? She currently stands about 2.5 feet tall and weighs 65lbs. She doesn't howl but she does have a very deep and loud bark.

I've attached a puppy pic and three more recent photos.

Thank you so much!

I don't know but she is very pretty. Have you thought about getting a DNA test done? I'd say she is probably a mixed mix. I know, not helpful.

But because she is a mix her color could be coming from the other parent.

the "deutsche Bracke" (I don't know the english name) can look similiar to this... I'm sure a lot of Braque breed family look similiar.
probably mixed with somethin taller, with longer legs. :)

oh wow, he is stunning, id definitely say he has some hound in him, maybe husky or collie, because of the eye colour? his build reminds me a bit of a greyhound? he is very slender, but that might be his age. :) stunning! lucky you.

A few more pictures

Laying down: 6 months old
Standing up: 1 year old

Thanks everyone for such great help! I'd do a DNA test but I've heard a lot of people get results back that just say things like "results inconclusive" - and I'm not wanting to throw down so much cash for that!)

Definitely hound at least. Might be treeing walker, might be foxhound. Maybe hamilton hound, if her grizzled areas were black she'd really look a lot like a leggier version of one of those. She might be all kinds of different hounds instead of some other mix in there!

Yeah I really don't think you'll be able to get any better answer than generic hound mix. She could be a mix of any sorts of hounds. There might be something else in there but it's safe to say she's just a pretty hound dog. :)

Body build wise I am thinking Treeing Walker Coonhound or Foxhound but the face is defiantly not Coonhound of any breed. The coat pattering looks more like that of a Foxhound.

I am going with a Foxhound mix maybe Border Collie/Foxhound or Foxhound/Lab.

P.S. Walkers, Harriers, & Beagles all have white tipped tails.

They're registered with the UKC as Deutsche Bracke.

...Maybe hamilton hound..
Funny, I thought of Hamiltonstövare mix right off, too. They aren't very common here in the States, tho, so I doubt that's what she is. Because of that, I think she could be a mix of scent and sight hound like sassafras.
