Hello everyone, the picture above is the photo of my late 8 weeks Rottie. 2 days ago, he was perfectly fine and as always, he had his usual large appetite. Yesterday morning, I noticed he wouldn't eat anything but would still follow me around as he always does. I checked his poo from the night before and it was solid enough. However, within the next 1hour, he defecated twice. First poo was ok but second poo wasn't all that solid, but wasn't watery either. He tried to vomit but nothing comes out except saliva.
Within the next hour, I rushed him to the vet place and after running a test, I was told my puppy has Pavo. Treatment commenced immediately and during this time, the puppy never defecated or threw up again. He wasn't as active as he use to be but he was still active enough to play and lick me over. The vet in an attempt to give him a drip sedated him twice within 5 minutes. I was told to come back in the evening and take him home and bring him back the next day. Within 3 hours of leaving the place, the clinic called me to inform me that he is dead. I found this strange and would appreciate if some of you professionals could give me your opinions about what happened. Is it possible for a puppy to die within 5 hours of showing the first symptoms of Pavo? Can Pavo kill a puppy even though the symptoms are still very mild? Thanks everyone.
