Sorry for the title.

I had up until 12/27/11 a "black lab" named Puck. For years we were guessing his exact makeup. He was a good boy and he treated his "pack" very well. He had this knack of "talking" and was very polite. He would wait for all of us to finish dinner/ or other meals and then go into the kitchen.

A friend of mine says that he could have some rottie in him, but I don't know. All I do know is that I miss him lots.

I think you're thinking of the occipital bone. It can be more pronounced in certain breeds and certain dogs.

I also think your dog looks like a lab.

So he's of pure Lab ancestry? All those years calling him a Lab mix. His tail was a little bushier than a lab's otter tail. I'm glad we rescued him. Before he was named Puck, his abusive owners named him "Fat Boy"
