What could this bump be?

Hi all!

I apologize if this is too graphic for some. My friend sent me this picture yesterday wondering what it could be. We think it could be an infected tick bite or reaction? Her husband had found a tick on Bruno a few weeks ago when they went to the island. (They take Bruno on a lot of trails)

She is going to call the vet today and hopefully get in to see someone about it.

I know tick bites can be very nasty! They can leave a mark. But it should be gone after a few days. Whenever my dogs have small wounds, I use honey ointment. It's really great!
I hope it's nothing too serious!

oh that's good to know! thanks for the tip! I will relay that to her

She told me the vet said it was actually a benign tumor and it should go away in a few days. At his age (8 years - american bulldog/pit mix) he is more prone to them.
