Hello folks,

We got this little girl from a rescue service. They told us that she was a dachshund mix.
However, look at her legs, they are long!

I've had quite a number of people tell me she looks like a cavalier king charles spaniel. But she's mixed with something. When i look up dachshund x. Cavalier, they all seem to have the classic dachshund short legs and long body.

Any ideas what the other part of her might be?

I agree with Doxie mix, except I believe she is a long-haired Doxie mix. That would account for the longer hair. Most mixed dogs aren't a 50/50 mix, so it's possible she actually has half a dozen breeds in her. It's kind of like how if there is a family with parents of different races, one child might take after the mother, another after the father, and another might have features from both parents. I don't see much Cavalier influence in your pup myself, but I suppose it's possible. She's very cute!

i don't know what a Doxie is, but there really could be a Dackel in there.
It's true that a big part of the Dackelmixes have have short legs and a long body, but not when mixed in grandparent generation which is often the case with shelter dogs. they're often mixed of a lot of mixes whose parents also have been mixes.
perhaps there was some kind of Chihuahua mix involved...?

Doxie is the American abbreviation for Dachshund/Dackel so we are in agreement! =P Chihuahua is very possible too, especially since mixing those two is very common here.

American pronounce some vowels are bit weird, don't they?
They managed to make an O out of an A. :p
But we Germans have to be quiet. I just read somewhere, that some one wanted to sell "Golden Red River" puppies. XD
