I got this sweet girl yesterday. She's about a year and a half old. The owner says she's mixed but doesn't really know. She got her as a puppy for free from a friend. To me she looks like a shih tzu. I'd love your opinions. She weighs 14lbs.

I also think she looks like a shih tzu, but I am absolutely bad at finding out what mixes dogs are!

I agree Shih Tzu. If she's not mixed she's definitely at least half ST.

What a cutie, congrats on the new addition to your family!

I would also guess Shih Tzu or a mix with high content ST. Too big to be a Maltese, doesn't look like a Coton either. Another possibility may be Havanese or a mix, but I would absolutely lean towards Shih Tzu. (My family has had both ST and Havanese, and she looks VERY Shih Tzu to me, both her build and expression)

Thank you everyone. I think she may have a smidge of something else. When walking outside her ears sort of go back and disappear in her head. I know that sounds weird but it's the only thing that I've never seen in a shih tzu.
