We want to get a third dawgie to join our madhouse
we already have two border collies , Toffee , our lad, is 18 months old , and Gypsy , our girlie is a year old

It looks like we will be buying from a breeder (one more rescue left to reply , if they turn us down we're throwing the towel in on rescueing a dog)
what id like to know is what breed of dog will compliment BC's in energy and playfulness ?
I loooove the bigger type dogs , but I need to be sure we can fit three dogs in our car when we go somewhere , so really a breed no bigger than a BC

you know, i've always wanted a corgi, i just love their little legs! aren't they herding dogs?

Yep I think they were used for cattle, correct me if Iam wrong....they are fun little boogers too...not for the faint of heart...though if you already can handle two BC and want a third dog...I'd say go for it!

I adore corgi's :D yep they are cattle dogs
I grew up with a Pembroke Corgi as a child , Mandy her name was , she was adorable , not very well socialised with other animals and her recall was rubbish , but back then I dont think my parents had much of a clue about socialisation/training etc
I wouldnt have thought a Corgi would be able to keep up with a BC ?

As for Boxers , my Sis-in-Law has one of those , she's a sweetheart of a dog , loves getting a cuddle and she adores my lunatic pair (as they do her) and our Grandkids , but the breed doesnt appeal to me enough to own

I dont know anything about ACD/Heelers , will have to do some research about those :)

LOL I *wish* I had a video of Mikey to show. He's Corgi/Heeler (We're pretty sure)-he's short, at the tall end for a corgi-14" at the shoulder.

He's the FASTEST dog at the dog park-outrunning labs, weiremeiners, rotti's you name it! He even spins in circles to see where the other dogs are while he outruns them :) He's defintiely fast!

*Actually he even caught a duck. Not an injured duck, not a baby duck, not a sleeping duck. He caught a duck. He can also outswim them! They have to fly to get away from him (Duck was dropped and unharmed after mommy's screaming!)

Here's a cardigan doing an agility run (They are the taller ones)

lol, anybody who has to run circles around hoof stock would have to have the stamina to keep up, i would think....and cows are sooooo much bigger than little corgis so they would be pretty tuff (like a big dog) i would think.

Apparently they are a big dog with a dwarf gene that shortens the legs? I can't remember where I read that so I can't swear to it ;)
