meet Owen. He belonged to a friend who passed away Sept 5th (4 weeks after we lost Caleb). She had 4 Labs. Her sister who lived with her is keeping the two yellows (including the one I showed this summer), and the breeder is keeping the chocolate. My friend used to "threaten" Owen with going to "Aunt Sue Boot Camp" when he got into trouble. Now he's living it! LOL Seriously, tho, he's an absolute love sponge. He's made huge progress in the 4 weeks he's been here with his impulse control. He's an even bigger "Mama's Boy" than Caleb was, if that's even possible. So, after 25 years of having yellows, we now have a black Lab.

These were taken last Wednesday, on his 4th birthday.

Thank-you, everyone. Losing Caleb was a total shock. I was numb and merely making the motions to get through the days until Owen came along. He was here less then 24 hours and had me laughing and feeling more like my old self again.

...so, in seeing Owen get a good home, it makes me feel extra glad he didn't have to spend any time in a shelter before doing so.

Stormy
A shelter was never an option. :) My friend's sister's original plan was for him and the chocolate to go to the breeder (who bred all 4 dogs and became a friend of theirs). We decided to give Owen a try here first.
