My three dogs (15 pound dogs) listen to me on command when I ask them to stop barking. Barking is allowed but needs to stop when I ask. What I want to teach them is to not bark in the first place when it’s unnecessary. Example: barking each and every time the tenants come home. I want my dogs to understand that they live here and there’s no need to bark each time they come home or walk out of the door. Is that possible? 👍🏻😊🐶🐶🐶. I know consistency plays a big part in all training and they are very good about stopping when asked but it’s really annoying to have to go through this several times a day. Help! 😩. I’m running out of consistency. Lol

Could you anticipate the time, or get your tenants to text you or call just before they arrive, so you could give your ”quiet” cue before they start barking? It would likely just be for a couple of weeks until you can break the habit.
