I have a year old chocolate lab who had no problem going up and down the stairs until a few days ago. Now she can't, which has caused problems since her outdoor area is through the basement and everything else is upstairs. It doesn't help that she is the most vocal lab I ever heard since she makes crying, barking and howling sounds when frustrated. We don't know what to do to get her up and down the stairs and to ease her frustration. Her nails aren't that long since we only got them done not a while ago. The stairs are wood and which may be slippery for her. Has anyone had this problem or any ideas how to fix it? Thank you!

Lab's can be very prone to hip dysplasia, which if present can flare up virtually overnight. I would have a Vet check her out, you need to know what is going on with her, so you can respond appropriately.
