Hi and welcome to the dog forum Soraya! Okay, from what I can gather here the article you linked to is an article on why people should train their dogs. Not so much on why you need to do it yourself as in all by your self. Im not sure Im understanding correctly what you want to do.
From what I can tell, you need to enroll in basic obedience classes. These classes have a qualified trainer who explains the basic obedience tasks and trains you to train your dog to perform them. This is what imo that article is getting at.
There are different places you can go for expample in the States, classes are offered through Petco and Petsmart, or you can check with your local independent pet store for references on trainers. Also, check with your local community center. Some cities offer dog obideince classes that are very afforable.
Hope this helps you out and best of luck to you!

Yea I took it the same as GG did...the article itself is just listing points as to why people should take the time to train their dog. May I ask how old your dog is?

Being a pit owner myself I believe it is very important to get the proper training for your dog. If you are not experienced in dog training then going to an actual obedience class will be the best option to go. You will get professional advice from someone who can help you learn the best way for you to show your dog what you're expecting from them. It is also a great way to help get your dog socialized so he/she can learn how to act when around other people and dogs.

I would check out local dog trainers in your area and visit them before registering with them. This way you can tour the facility and see what type of training style they use to see if it suits what you're looking for. Please keep us up to date on what you chose to do.
