The question you have to ask yourself, is, am I keeping him/her alive for me, or for him or her. It always comes down to quality of life, and if its a very low quality of life, with no reasonable hope of recovery, and the quality of life will only decline, then that question becomes the criteria for your decision. Its never easy, it can't be, but how you answer that question helps you make the correct decision.

Thank you all for your support. I am still agonizing over this even though it is the decision I made and I suppose a part of me always will but I will try to remind myself that the main thing is she isn't suffering and the decision I made was made out of love.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Making the choice to euthanize is very difficult even when you know for certain it's the only option. Trust yourself; I think you made the correct and best choice for Darwin. {{hugs}}
