I breed and train GSD's and Labrador retrievers for service work, show, hunting, sporting or just plain pets! Today while i took one of my youngest to the marsh to do some bone hunting (sniffing out and locating animal bones and antler sheds) My dog took off on a scent. Following her on my GPS collar I expected her just to have located a small bone or two, but instead it was a dog curled into a ball freezing from the -30 whether, luckily she was a friendly dog and i was able to coax her into my house! After about an hour she was playing around just like any dog! She happen to be lucky to avoid frostbite and the many wolves and coyotes, since it was close to my trapline afterall!

After a quick phone call with the M4S wanting the 6 digit number on her tag, i was able to locate her owner and get the dog home in less then two hours!

Fantastic! I've been spending some time, unfortunately without much success, seeing if I can match photos of lost and found dogs in my area. So few dogs seem to have microchips with current contact info.

Great find by your dog!
I bet the owners of the lost dog were relieved to have their dog back.

Did they say how long the dog had been missing or how far from home it traveled?

That's awesome! So lucky the dog as found by you and your dog. :) I remember when I started my shelter job this man came to the shelter as he was called that his dog was there because of the chip. He was thrilled to see it WAS his dog, because he had been stolen two years before! Nice stories. :)
