Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Your safest bet is the cone your dog is using now. Yeah it sucks, but it's for the best and it won't last long. My advice would be to keep on as you are. It's for the safety of your dog...

I like the soft cones, but if the dog has a very long snout, they may be able to defeat them. MY vet was concerned about them being floppy, but I have used these successfully for 3 dogs now.

This also worked well and enabled one of mine to see around which really helped.

We used a surgical bodysuit, worked for Ozzy, I just had to sew on a little patch on the crotch area to further close access to his neuter incision. Of course, he always wore clothes in the winter like coats and hoodies. He wasn't much of a fan of his bottom being covered, but it kept him more quiet.
