About a week ago my 2 1/2 year old spayed chug started to hump my 1 year old neutered pomchi. He doesn’t seem to like it and usually gets away. It happens when they’re playing but this is the first it has happened and now it’s happening every time they play rough. Not sure why or what to do about it.

I'd step in and stop the game before it gets to that stage, especially as the pom-chi dislikes it. Humping is seldom sexual, it usually comes from non-sexual over excitement, so just end the game before this happens.

I do stop it but it continues to happen. I work from home most of the week but the days I have to go in I worry about. Neither of them wants to be separated from the other but I wonder if I should do that. This is new for them.

If you had to separate them maybe baby gates would help, then they could see each other but not annoy each other?
